Outreach

As the aim of our project is to promote awareness and increase public involvement, naturally we hold outreach activities to publicise our project and generate interest in urban nature projects.

One such activity would be our collaboration with the Science Centre Singapore (SCS). SCS prides itself on making science an inspiring and exciting experience for people of all ages, offering a wide range of enrichment programmes for students aimed at complementing the school's formal science education as well as enriching and fun events, competitions and outreach activities for everyone. Today, the Science Centre receives more than a million visitors annually and is acclaimed as one of the top Science Centres in the world.

At SCS, we have had the opportunity of hosting workshops aimed towards young children, to teach them the importance of urban nature through innovative and creative methods. We hope to further our collaboration to hosts booths at various fairs and events in the future, as well as hosting more workshops.

We have also hosted activities within our own school, as we believe youths are another important group with the power to change the public's view and attitude towards urban nature projects in the near future. We have held a Inter-House Game, where students first learnt about urban nature in Singapore, before going on to prove their knowledge in various games and competition, culminating in them planting and adopting plants of their own in our butterfly garden in the school.

These are but a few of the outreach activities we have accomplished. You can check out more by clicking the 'Outreach' tag on the side bar.
